Cleaning & Maintenance Tips for ACP Sheets to Keep Them Looking New

Modern buildings look really sleek and stylish all thanks to materials like ACP. Whether it’s a small home office or showroom the sheets are used everywhere because they are durable, lightweight and also come in many beautiful finishes. But here is one thing: even the best quality sheets can lose their shine and smoothness over time. Dust pollution, rain and sunlight can dull the appearance. The good news is that with the right cleaning and maintenance routine your ACP cladding can look new for several years.

Why Cleaning and Maintenance Matter

Many people think ACP sheets don’t need much care because they’re durable, which is partly true. But regular cleaning helps in several ways:

  • Keeps the surface shiny and fresh-looking
  • Prevents dirt and grime buildup that can cause stains or scratches
  • Extends the lifespan of the panels
  • Protects the coating from fading due to pollution or UV rays
  • Saves money by avoiding early replacements or repairs

Regular Cleaning Schedule

ACP sheets should be cleaned at least once every 3 to 6 months, depending on your environment:

·   High-pollution or coastal areas: Clean once every 2–3 months.

·   Normal urban areas: Clean every 4–6 months.

·   Low-dust residential zones: Every 6 months is enough.

Use the Right Cleaning Solution

Avoid harsh chemicals , ACP sheets have protective coatings that can get damaged easily. Instead, use:

  • Mild detergent or soap solution mixed with clean water.
  • pH-neutral cleaners (avoid anything acidic or highly alkaline).
  • Soft sponges or microfiber cloths for gentle cleaning.

Avoid:

  • Bleach, ammonia, or strong acids.
  • Abrasive pads

Step-by-step cleaning process

You can just pray or gently pour clean water over the surface to remove loose dust and dirt droppings. Furthermore you can just mix mild detergents with water and use a soft sponge or cloth to gently rub the surface in circular motions. Once you are done scrubbing, rinse again with clean water to remove any soap breast sitting. Furthermore you can use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe off the water and avoid air drying because it can leave water spots filled up and look for any marks, stains or scratches. If needed clean specific spots using a mild cleaner.

Handle Stubborn Stains Carefully

Sometimes, stains like grease, oil, or graffiti may not go away with regular soap and water. In such cases:

  • Use isopropyl alcohol (IPA) or a diluted solvent cleaner approved for ACPs.
  • Test the cleaner on a small, hidden area first.
  • Gently rub only the stained spot, not the entire surface.
  • Rinse immediately afterwards with clean water.

Avoid Pressure Washing

Many people think high-pressure water jets can quickly clean ACP panels. While they can, they also risk damaging the coating or bending the panels if used incorrectly.

If you use a pressure washer:

  • Keep the pressure below 50 bar (725 psi).
  • Hold the nozzle at least 30 cm (1 ft) away from the surface.
  • Use a wide spray angle instead of a focused jet.

So in short you can just say that ACP sheets are known for their durability and beauty but like any good surface they need care. Regular cleaning with the right products, attention to adjacent joints and gentle handling we’ll keep your panels bright, smooth and impressive for years. Think of ICP maintenance as protecting your building’s smile or small effort every few months to keep everything shining beautifully.
